WIN + P (DisplaySwitch) not working in Windows 7 without Aero

As you may already know, there is a very nice shortcut in Windows 7 RC for changing display settings like if you want to ouput from a laptop to an external monitor or a projector.
You can access this menu by pressing:

WIN + P

and then choosing the desired setting with the arrow keys, the mouse, or by holding the WIN key and depressing P again. This combination runs displayswitch.exe.

Unfortunately, this menu is not available if you do not have a video card compatible with the Aero interface, like I have (the one on IBM Thinkpad T43).

I hope this menu will be available in the RTM.

UPDATE (14.09.2009): Neither the Win + P shortcut, nor running displayswitch.exe directly does NOT fire up the menu if Aero is not working.
